About The House
Built in 1920 in the Colonial Revival style, it was the home to one of Porterville’s early law enforcement personnel, Edward B. Isham. He was the Chief of Police in Porterville, beginning in the early 1900's for a total of 18 years. He was one of the key figures who apprehended the murderer of well-liked businessman John "Jack" Lamkin in 1911. He was also a rancher and cattle brand inspector. He was reported to have died in the home in the company of his sister and nephew.
There have been several residents and businesses in this house, the last owner being Dr. Charles Spencer, it is now the property of the City of Porterville.
Reported activity is the sensation of being watched, muffled voices and the feeling of anxiety. PGS has evidence that documents the existence of paranormal activity.
